Patrick Bundock is an American dog trainer and behaviorist. His family has been involved in professional training, kenneling and conformation for many generations. Patrick’s primary focus has been the study of the human-canine relationship, canine behavior and training.
In 1995, Patrick provided support for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations’ search & cadaver dogs during the Oklahoma City bombing. In 1996, he teamed with David Schmidtke and K-9 Dog Training Melbourne, one of the largest and most renown dog training schools in Australia. Together they formed K-9 Dog Training Bangkok. Since their opening, the school has trained over 10,000 dogs in Thailand and surrounding countries, including tackling some of the hardest cases with his Reform School for Dogs & Owners program. In partnership with David, Patrick provided training for the Royal Thai Police K9 Unit for law enforcement working dogs in 1997 and continued to provide seminars and workshops for the Bangkok international airport quarantine contraband detection dogs. Under an MOU with the Royal Thai Army, Patrick implemented restructuring of important elements of their military working dog systems. He has performed training and consultancy services for the Royal Veterinary & Remount Department and was awarded their occupational badge. Patrick was instrumental in the creation and training of the K9 Unit of Task Force 90, a counter-terrorist special operations force in the kingdom. He is the author of hundreds of articles on canine behavior and training, as well as the author of several books, including Understanding The Military Working Dog.
Patrick has wrangled dogs for a number of films, commercials and events including the premier of Dr. Doolittle by 20th Century Fox, commercials for Greenies, titles for NatGeo, commercials for Subaru and Ford, and as a credited dog trainer for several seasons of Cesar Millan’s television shows. His greatest honor was to spend over a decade as the personal dog trainer for HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, Kromma Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarinda.
David Schmidtke was the founder of K-9 Melbourne, one of Australia's largest and most prestigious dog training clubs. David is one of a very few dog trainers that inspired a Golden Age of dog training experimentation and discovery during the late 1980's and early 1990's in Australia. David trained Patrick and later partnered with him to establish K-9 Bangkok
Jimmy has trained many hundreds of dogs in the past 7 years of professional training. She has a bachelor's degree in Education and spent many years as a Ministry of Education licensed teacher at international schools in Bangkok. She's a former DJ and Ancient Muay Thai kickboxing student, referee and judge, and is fluent English and Spanish and several dialects of Thai. She's the doting owner of Hunter & Pridi the Beagles, Kaori the Poodle, Tamu the Cocker Spaniel, Vader the Giant Schnauzer and Freeman the soi cat.
Joey graduated as a Vet Tech from Kasetsart University and spent 2 years as an animal nurse and vet tech. When she realized that dog training was her dream, she enrolled and graduated from Highland Canine Training in the USA. She returned to Thailand and got experience training and then joined K-9 Dog Training Bangkok. In the 4 years she's been with us she has been a private trainer, daycare manager and Group Class Assistant. She's the proud owner of Vigo the Thai Ridgeback and Rocky the Labrador.
Trent is the founder of K-9 Lampang, an affiliate of K-9 Bangkok. Before starting K-9 Lampang, he trained and partnered with Patrick to create the Reform School for Wayward Dogs & Owners, a last-chance program tackling the toughest cases of aggression and fear. His relocation to Northern Thailand brought new opportunities for animal training and rehabilitation and he currently works with horses, macaques and goats, while maintaining his decades long interest in snakes and other reptiles.
Johnny took the unique opportunity to combine his decade-long experience as a conflict area medic with his skills as professional dog trainer to form Pack Survival USA , a training organization that teaches day-to-day strategies and life saving techniques for you and your dog. They teach Crisis Management & Preparedness, Canine First Aid as well as basic obedience and etiquette for dogs. With his operations experience in Afghanistan and Iraq and his role in law enforcement as a Boarding Officer with the US Coast Guard, Johnny provides technical advice as well as training in our Working Dogs Program.
Suda is the Kennel Manager of The Farm at K-9 Bangkok. She has taken loving care of thousands of dogs throughout her more than 20 years of managing our boarding program. She is certified in Canine First Aid and is, herself, an experienced dog trainer. Suda also manages our raw feeding program which feeds nearly a thousand kilograms a month of fresh, biologically appropriate, human-grade meals to our boarders and students.
Wan is our Transporter. Before joining us to log almost a million safe kilometers with our dogs, Wan was a Thai Department of Transportation licensed commercial drivers, authorized to operate tandem tractor trailers (“doubles”) across international borders. Wan has an instinctive feel for dogs and knows how to keep them calm and safe in our vehicles.
